Paris Roosevelt Productions is a San Francisco-based independent film company founded by Phoebe Rubin that produces narrative and documentary films telling big stories; these films shine a light on the stories of under-recognized individuals who are thriving in their distinctive, often inspirational, and very original lives.
After Phoebe found herself crying in a restaurant in the late 90s, she discovered this was common even among her friends. She knew there was a story to tell. This led to her first short film, "Women Who Cry in Restaurants", which blossomed into the founding of Paris Roosevelt Productions in 1997.
Since then, Paris Roosevelt films have made appearances at multiple film festivals, including the 1998 LA Shorts Festival ("Women") and the 2018 Napa Valley Film Festival ("A Perfect Note").
Phoebe Rubin holds a Masters Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Drama Therapy from Antioch University.
She has taught, directed, and produced autobiographical performance to youth at risk, actors, and women's organizations.
